Pursat Grassland

Pursat Grassland is located about 15km from Pursat town (abouot 185km from Phnom Penh to Pursat).  The grassland and shrub provides very special habitats for the vulnerable Chinese Grass-babbler (Graminicola Striatus), Manchurian Reed Warbler, Bengal Florican, Chestnut Munia, Weavers (Asian Golden, Baya and Streaked), and Blue-breasted Quail. A trip here is normally done with an overnight stay, at a simple hotel, in Pursat. We usually combine this excursion with a visit to or from Phnom Aural, in the Cardamom Mountains.

Target birds at Pursat Grassland are:  Chinese Grass-babbler (Chinese Grassbird), Bengal Florican, White-browed Reed-warbler (Manchurian Reed-warbbler), Chestnut Munia, Small Buttonquail, Asian Golden Weaver, Blue-breasted Quail, Red Avadavat. See Pursat Grassland bird checklist here
