Senior Guide

Kunthea Chhoun was born in Kampong Thom province and moved to Siem Reap, with her family, in 2006. She first started birding in 2012 and has proved a very fast learner.  Having guided many tours across Cambodia, her role has developed further with work on the bird survey and environmental education program.

Kunthea has a particular interest in Cambodia’s butterfly population. She will often go out into the field, checking for butterflies and adding them to her growing list of species. Kunthea interest in wildlife has taken her to: Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Korea.
