The first ever Cambodia Bird Fair (CBF) held on Mar. 17-18, 2018 at Wat Phnom Historical Site in Phnom Penh. This event organised and associated by the Ministry of Environment, BirdLife International, Cambodia Bird Guide Association and Sam Veasna Centre and in cooperation with China’s Jingshan administration, Cun Cao Xin Rural Environmental Protection Association, China Wildlife Conservation Association, ASEAN Bird Fair Committee, will be held under the theme “The Potential of Ecotourism and Birds of Cambodia.”
The Cambodia Bird Fair is aimed to raise awareness about wildlife conservation, get people together to start taking care of environment, and promote the beauty of natural heritage of Cambodia to the public as well as boost ecotourism. There were 60 exhibition booths from eight countries to warm up the Cambodia Bird Fair and over 3,000 people come to visit. We are happy to sharing the importance of CBF to the students and doing bird conservation workshop. here some activities of 1st Cambodia Bird Fair such as bird quiz, bird coloring competition, bird drawing competition, bird exhibition photos and bird photo contest.
And lastly, the pictures of 30 different species of rare birds in Cambodia were displayed on the occasion.
It was a very successful event. The Cambodia Bird Guide Association wishes to thank all the partners that supported the Cambodia Bird Fair. We sincerely hope that this event will happen every year so that the public and in particular young people are made aware and reminded of the beauty of wildlife and the environment.
