For travelers looking to get fully immersed in a new destination, our hiking offer the ultimate opportunity to soak in your surroundings—and engage in a thrilling physical challenge. Much of the forest has been degraded but there are protected areas where bird life is abundant.

Angkorian lingas or phallic symbols were carved into the riverbed at Kbal Spean to ensure the fertility of the lake and the potency of the King. Angkor Center for Biodiversity and Conservation (ACCB) is located at Kbal Spean. The Center rescues illegally hunted birds and animals, providing a refuge until they can be returned to the wild. Cambodian wildlife is understandably shy and ACCB gives you a chance of seeing native animals and birds.

What to Expect

  • We will arrive back in Siem Reap around 5 pm.  We can either take you back to your hotel or to another destination of your choice in town.
  • Other things to bring: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
  • CBGA will provide drinking water in a big container to refill, so we request you to bring your own water bottle from home or from your hotel. It is our campaign to reduce plastic waste.

Note: This tour can be done all year round. One of the best combination for trekking and wildlife along the range of Kulen National Park.

Kbal Spean is a critical place to support the Dry Dipterocarp Forest and semi evergreen forest. Located 45km north of Siem Reap city, Kbal Spean is an Angkorian era archaeological site in the western part of the Kulen Mountain Range involving a 40-minute walk through the forest for about 1500m uphill along a path before reaching the first site, a waterfall, where the carved sculptures start appearing in the river bed known as the Valley of a 1000 Lingas” or “The River of a Thousand Lingas”.
