We will thoroughly explore the Changkran Roy areas for dragonflies, including forest trails, where we have had great looks at the amazing Vestalis gracilis (Clear-winged Forest Glory), Heliocypha biforata, Prodasineura autumnalis, Prodasineura verticalis sensu, Euphaea masoni, Lestes elatus (Emerald Spreadwing), Copera ciliata (Black-kneed Featherleg). Probably about 40 species of dragonflies can be found around the ruins! We won’t see them all, but we should see many. The area with water resources supports some potential wildlife including the birds, mammals, butterflies and dragonflies.
Ecotourism in Changkran Roy is run by people from the local village. Our camping arrangements, food and guiding will be provided by them. As you are led along the forest paths, animals, butterflies, dragonflies and birds will be identified. The trees, flowers and plants will be described with a particular emphasis on herbs and their traditional local usage in medicine and food.

We can do dragonfly tour all year round. However the best time to explore is from October – January. Habitat: forest stream and small individual pool along the road.
