Changkran Roy is one of the most butterfly rich site around Siem Reap, with roughly 50 species. The area with water resources supports some potential wildlife including the birds, mammals, and butterflies. On this tour we won’t see all of the species, but we’ll see an awful lot such as Great Orange Awlet (Burara etelka etelka), White Imperial (Neomyrina nivea), Commander (Moduza procris procris), Marble Map (Cyrestis cocles – earli & natta), Clipper (Parthenos sylvia gambrisius), Tailed Jay (Graphium agamemnon agamemnon), Fivebar Swordtail (Graphium antiphates pompilius), Spotted Jay (Graphium arycles sphinx). This trip explores beautiful areas in the northern of Siem Reap.
Ecotourism in Changkran Roy is run by people from the local village. Our camping arrangements, food and guiding will be provided by them. As you are led along the forest paths, animals, butterflies and birds will be identified. The trees, flowers and plants will be described with a particular emphasis on herbs and their traditional local usage in medicine and food.
